The big event for this week, Sega Fan Chat went excellent! Thanks to all the people who came, and I hope you enjoyed it. As you probably know I'm looking into the plans for future Fan Chats... but no news yet sorry. Just of intrest, what would you think about one every two months though? I'm just trying to get an idea of people's thoughts, because after all... your the people chatting! The big news for this week, Sonic Adventure! The game that has sealed the idea of me buying an import Dreamcast this November... if Sonic is a launch title... he he, there is no way I can wait a year! :) Also in this Issue, is your chance to WIN A Saturn Game Of Your Choice!! > > > Page 1 - News < < < > > > Page 2 - WIN A GAME < < < > > > Page 3 - Feature < < < > > > Page 4 - Survey < < < > > > Page 5 - Importing < < < > > > Page 6 - Letters < < < > > > Page 7 - Web Sites < < < _ _ _/ \____ News __________________________________________/ \_/ *** For the latest news, see the Sega 2000 or Sega X site *** > > > SONIC ADVENTURE - HE'S BACK! Ok almost everyone has seen the info on the new Sonic Dreamcast game by now. Sega 2000 has managed to create a features list, but please remember these are ONLY rumours, not offical. Everything will be made offical on the 22nd. * Graphics beyond that of Model 3 * Classic levels like Casino Night Zone and Green Hill Zone * Brand new moves for Sonic * 4 Player Mode, Sonic, Tails, Kunckles and the new character * No 2 player mode in single screen (imagine it in 3D... it just wouldn't work) * About 25 levels, with 2 acts and a boss in each Those are the current rumours flying around the net at the moment... most seem to make good sense. > > > MORE DRONES INFO FROM SEGA FAN CHAT Nigma Software was at the fan chat yeserday, revealing some cool information about there upcoming game, Drones! The game can be played with a huge 32 players! The idea is to fight each other in arena's, mostly outdoors. You use tools, power ups, and laser weapons. You can pick from 8 different characters, in this 3rd person fighting/shooting game. The framerate is Very impressive indeed. With it running no lower than 74 frames per second on any version! The DEC Alpha version(PC) of Drones runs at 131 fps in 32 bits at 1280x1024, all options on, with sound surround. That makes for some super smooth action! Also confiriming some details about the Playstation 2, he said that its unfair to compare Playstation 2 to Dreamcast as they use totally different technology. Not a single polygon in the Playstation 2? Could easily be since thats the rumour going around PSX sites at the moment. > > > MODEM PETITION COMING SOON! Onslaught@SegaX has been planning a petition on a giant scale to get the Modem built in to the Dreamcast. Sega 2000 will be happy to surport this, and hopefully next issue we will have details on how you can add your name. The goal is to get atleast 10,000 e-mail address's on the petition ... our subcription number is around 1,400 at the moment... so if all of you could enter, well thats a good start! More details to come... > > > 2 NEW DREAMCAST GAMES NEC, the company behind Sengoku Turb and Seventh Cross have announced another 2 more Dreamcast titles. The first one is Monster Breeder... and there the name really says it all. The object being to breed your own army on monsters, from green slimy ones, to fast spiked beasts. Its predicted that this game will be Internet compatable, allowing gamers around the world to pit there army against yours. The second, Mercury Pretty is in some ways the same, but in some other ways so different. Ferries ... yes ferries, those cute little winged people. Well this is surposed to be a sim game involving ferries some how, but at the moment almost nothing is knowen about that title. _ _ _/ \____ WIN the Saturn Game Of Your Choice! ___________/ \_/ Know of a friend who might be intrested in the Sega 2000-X Magazine? Fine Print: No more than 15 entrys (I have to be fair) _ _ _/ \____ Feature _______________________________________/ \_/ Here is a few extra things Bucco11 pointed out about last issue's DVD Feature... *Price - DVD is expensive and requires extra hardware in DC like a Decoder. Games will probaly be more expensive and same with the system. *Scratching - DVD burns more hole's in it right so one scratch will do alot of damage and thats means extra care is needed. *Why - People are wanting it to watch movies on there dreamcast but should let there proffessional DVD player for the TV do that. Well thats all the bad about DVD is all the goods one's you have already said. --- What do you want to know about? I wounder what the deeper meaning of the poem is... :) > > > Could I have Bernie's address?? I wrote just to tell you what I think of the modem being outside the DC. I think the reason they're doing that aside from selling it separately is that it can be upgraded easily, but selling it separately is the craziest thing i have ever heard, I don't want to see the DC go down so early because of a stupid move, and this is giving me second thoughts about buying the system, I think a petition is a great idea. The modem for saturn flopped because it was sold separately and the price was too high, Ill sign a petition and could you see if you could find Bernie Stolar's address so we could all write personal letters on this subject? - Mostafa SEGA 2000 - Exactly my thoughts too! (great minds think alike eh? he he) His address? For fear of his life he isn't going to give that out... > > > Some reasons to have an "external" modem... I think having the modem being "external" and sold seperate is a good thing, for 3 reasons. 1-Will make the cost of the Dreamcast a little cheaper, and that sure is a good thing. 2-Some people don't wanna play online, so why should they be forced to buy something they don't want/need? 3-Upgrades. Having the modem external makes it easier to upgrade to a faster kbps modem, say 56k or even cable modems, which are external. Overall selling the modem seperately in the U.S. is a good idea. Well I hope you like'd my opinion.. buh bye :) - Mikeytee SEGA 2000 - Intresting, maybe I should do a survey on how many people Don't want to play on-line ...ok how many people here think they probably wouldn't use the Modem? > > > An idea for a future Dreamcast game... "Conspiracy" Anthon (the main character) was checking in the internet for nude pictures of an actress at 3:00am but he's head fall in the keyboard and press some keys and woke up fast and he saw that he has typed an address to something called "U.GOD" finding it funny, he presses enter and it wasn't what he expected. It was and underground union of the Military, CIA, FBI, the Mafia and the US Government. He disconnected himself fast and copy the internet address, but he doesn't know that he was already traced up, he look to the window and saw black helicopters coming to his house, he started running and the story just began. It is here that you start playing. What is the conspiracy? Well there can be one or more than one, it can be the existence of extraterrestrial life, the cover up of Rosswel and that the invisible suit created by the military is based on UFO technology, that the suit has been used like a test for the assassination of JFK because he knew too much and that explain the others 7 bullets shoted from different places beside the ones that there was Oswald (I don’t know if it is like that "oops"), an that the UFOs we see today are made by the military but are based on UFOs technology, and a lot more... - Anthony SEGA 2000 - For the rest of the idea, including the chacters and how it could be built, played and more... I've posted it as a Feature on Sega 2000.
