But from now on there will be the regular magazines each week like normal. :) Well, since last time lots has happened, Sega X has its own domain name is in now the #1 Sega site on the net! Sega 2000 is still getting compliments on its original design, music and over 100 hits a day. :) Hope you enjoy this issue! > > > Page 1 - News < < < > > > Page 2 - Feature < < < > > > Page 3 - Survey < < < > > > Page 4 - Importing < < < > > > Page 5 - Letters < < < > > > Page 6 - Web Sites < < < _ _ _/ \____ News __________________________________________/ \_/ With less than 150 days until the Dreamcasts release now, the news should start increasing soon. >>> FIVE LAUNCH TITLES REVEALED Sega X found the 5 Dreamcast Launch titles in a trusted Hong Kong magazine, Game Magazine. Here are the titles... - Virtua Fighter 3 - D2 - Scud Race (a nice surprize) - Sonic 3D - Seventh Cross (a RPG from NEC) >>> BLOOD 2 AND SHOGO ON DREAMCAST Its now been confirmed that two games, using Monolith's Lithtech engine are coming to Dreamcast. The first is Blood 2: The Chosen, a Doom style game. While the second is Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. GT Interactive are excpeted to be the publishers, since they did the first "Blood" game and are already an offical publisher for our favorite console. >>> 10 DREAMCAST GAMES A MONTH! - Sega X Over 1000 development kits, 120 developers, and only one system. It adds up to one thing, that there were bound to be a bunch of games to be realeased for the Dreamcast. To that end, we have received confirmed reports out of Japan that Sega is planning to release 10 games per month, every month, soon after the Dreamcast launch. We have also learned that the company who produces Sakura wars, with Sega in Japan, is working on a role playing game for the DC. We will try to uncover more on this in the coming weeks. >>> SEVEN CROSS - 810,000 CREATURES TO EAT! MMMMMmmmm.... - Sega Zone While Sengoku Turk is unlikely to appear outside Japan, NEC's second game sounds more promising. Seven Cross is another RPG, but with a simulation bias wherein the player explores 3D worlds, finds strange new creatures... and fights them! If victorious , your character eats the loser and acquires important characteristics, allowing it to evolve. There will be no less than 810,000 creatures to munch and the game should ship almost simultaneously with Dreamcast. In the past, NEC produced one of the most technically accomplished consoles of its era -- the awesome PC Engine -- but given its stake in PowerVR (who produce Dreamcast's graphics chipset) its comitment to Dreamcast software is no surprise. >>> POWER VR WINS AWARD Trevor Wing, Group Marketing Director for VideoLogic said, "It is significant that Generation 4 has not only made an award for PowerVR Second Generation but has also recognised the importance to the PC industry of the breakthrough technology it incorporates. PowerVR Second Generation delivers previously unattainable levels of 3D performance with the Sega Dreamcast Version achieving more than three million polygons per second, offering a new level of visual reality in gaming." >>> SHINING FORCE 3 DELAYED.... YET AGAIN Shining Force 3, the last game due out for Saturn in the US from Sega, has been delayed again. It was due out this week, but has been delayed till July 14th. >>> GAME-ONLINE OVERLOAD It seems Game-Online is being flooded with heavy traffic... too much actually... the Forum's have been off-line for a while, since May 21st when the Dreamcast was revealed actually. And other pages are "un-available" some times due to heavy traffic... _ _ _/ \____ Feature _______________________________________/ \_/ Here is just some intresting quotes from the Mr. Irimajiri (President Of Sega) Interview... "Dreamcast will be the greatest games machine technology until beyond the year 2000." "The biggest benefit of Dreamcast is in supplying the almost movie-like graphics." "There is no question about Sonic. He will remain as the major character for Sega." "We need to carefully select the titles from the arcade side and add some taste of home games." "The movies and gameplay will be seamless" "This will be the first time we launch a new platform with enough titles for the US and Europe." _ _ _/ \____ Importing _____________________________________/ \_/ Ok how about the people in UK, what happens if they want to import a Dreamcast aswell??? Simple! I look forward to hearing from ya! ------------------------------------------------------------- > > > "Nintendo/Sony/Sega Arguments" First I want to tell everyone that I'm neutral about gaming companies. I own a N64 and I enjoy it alot, but that doesn't mean that I'll hate the dreamcast (or Sony). I think it's extremely stupid to have fights between CUSTOMERS about who's better. Hello ?! We don't have to choose sides. We can enjoy both. Personally I think Nintendo won't die. Look at Sega. The Saturn sucked very heavily, and I don't know a store where I can buy one. Still, they can come up with a new console. So if the N64 would die, the big N could always bring out a new superultragigawhocares-console. I can assure you, neither one of the 3 biggies is gonna die. Nintendo can live of gameboys alone you know. I also think the Dreamcast will have some problems to deal with. First, many people already own a N64 or Playstation. They will think twice about buying another machine. Second, and this is something the N64 had problems with too, the more advanced the system is, the harder it is to make games for it. It will take much time. And finally, I, like a lot of people don't like SEGA's customer support. It's really ugly to drop support for a system after 2 years and leave the customers in the lurch. I'll probably like the Dreamcast, but I'll never like SEGA for that particular reason. Oh, and I just want to mention the reason why I chose a N64. It has Nintendo and Rare working for it, and they are no doubt the best game developers there are. Sorry Sega, but I don't like your games. It's good there's something like 3rd-party developers :-). I just wrote this letter to make everyone calm down a bit, and to prevent Nintendo/Sony/Sega arguments. I'm gonna play my Commodore64 now (that's where they got the name from!). - Maarten Bakker, > > > DROOLING AND MORE DROOLING... I have recently hear about many arcade games coming to DC and people saying "we could all be drooling at an exact translation of VF3" well correct me if I am wrong but.....shouldn't we expect a Better translation..let me explain. From what I have heard DC practically doubles or even triples model 3 in power...well its at least better than it. So if DC is porting over some model 3 games...shouldn't it look better...not exact.....Lets say Akira is 5 polygons (hehe) in VF3..instead of making a "drooling" perfect translation with 5 on DC...why not use 8 when you can with the power. It would be "Better" than the arcade since it has the power to do so... So why are people expecting an exact translation when that doesn't use all of DC's power???? P.S. Sega better use a whole lot (at least 75%) of DC's power in thier 1rst games...I am sick of them saying they had to wait a year to "Learn" about the systems capabilities...besides they have been working on DC for so long...... - JamesBond007 SEGA 2000 - EXACTLY! Forget Arcade Perfect... this is beyond that! > > > A BEEFED UP DREAMCAST FOR US... In www.sega-zone.com, there was a letter written from a sega spokesperson regarding sega's dreamcast. he stated that within the next 2 weaks, sony will be making an anouncement regarding their new playstation 2 hardware. he stated that sega has been preparing for this anouncement. if by any chance the new psx2 hardware is better in any way shape or form, they will do whatever it takes to make it better, and the current dreamcast specification can change. is this true? will sony be making an anouncement regarding the new psx2 hardware? and i also heard a rumor that sega will be making its dreamcast a DVD-ROM format. Is that true also? SEGA 2000 - Well, altough Sony havent annouced the specs of the PSX2 yet... yes its true that Sega will do whatever it takes to make it better. In the Q&A for Sega X I said that, and people complained... think about it... Sega cant afford to lose again, if there gonna be beaten by PSX2... they would do whatever it takes wouldnt they? The DVD-ROM format is not true however, Sega are using 1 gig CD's insted. _ _ _/ \____ Web Sites _____________________________________/ \_/ If you have a web site you want here, just e-mail me on madcow@ihug.co.nz > > > Sega Zone - http://www.sega-zone.com Cool new design to one of my fav Sega Sites! > > > The Dreamcaster - http://www.segadc.com/ A new Dreamcast site to watch! > > > Dreamcast HQ - http://duralhq.interspeed.net New owner, new look and a great forum!
