DCDivX 4 Dummies

This is a tutorial that was initially written by ZacMC for DCHomebrew in 2003 or 2004. The tutorial has been edited and updated by Curtiss Grymala for use on DCHelp.
- Install the DivX 5.2 codec. Download Virtual Dub.
- Open Virtual Dub, then open your video.
File -> Open video file -> Select your video - Select DivX5 codec, use bitrate of ~500kbit/s. Use lower bitrate for animated stuff (~300kbit/s) and higher bitrate for VCD quality on wide screen movies (~700kbit/s at 23.97fps).
Video -> Compression -> DivX 5 Codec -> Set your bitrate - Resize the video to 352×288 or smaller resolution.
Video -> Filters -> Add -> Resize -> 320x???Keep your aspect ratio! (320/Width=x), (x*Height=NewHeight)
Your width must be a multiple of 4. - Set audio on full processing mode.
Audio -> Full processing mode - Set audio conversion to 22050 high quality conversion.
Audio -> Conversion. - Select Mpeg layer-3 audio codec, use 40kbit/s 22050hz stereo.
Audio -> Compression ->MPEG Layer-3 - Save your video as an avi file.
File -> Save AVI.
